Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

PayPal Network & Security Engineers are responsible for the Engineering,
Implementation, and 24x7 support of the Networking infrastructure that supports
the PayPal.com website, the PayFlow Payment Gateway, and other critical PayPal
back-office networks. This Engineering and Implementation team supports and
participates in architectures and designs driven by the PayPal Operations
Architecture team. This position will be responsible for the delivery of
infrastructure and business projects on time, on budget, and meet all business
and technical requirements. Responsibilities also include the development of
network and security engineering standards, implementing changes in a dynamic,
high availability network, and the troubleshooting and resolution of complex
network or firewall problems. This includes day to day operation support for
network firewalls and security enhancements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Understanding of firewall and network security, network monitoring tools,
Unix/Linux and system support also required. Checkpoint and Cisco Pix knowledge
required. Change management principles and understanding as well as knowledge
of industry trends and technology advancements are a plus. Ideal candidate will
have extensive experience implementing high availability, fault tolerant
networks in a dynamic environment. Cisco network certifications are also highly
desired (CCIE- Security CCNP, CCIE) as well as Security certifications (CISSP)
Candidates must be able to be on-call and work flexible hours.
Successful candidates will also have experience and knowledge in managing SSL
certification processes and Public Key Infrastructures (PKI).
Ability to identify and implement process improvements to support efficient
project delivery as well as availability goals and project management is a plus.
