Position: Principal Software Engineer
Location: Mountain View, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Escalations Engineer - EME
Responsibilities:
The Escalations Engineer will be responsible for managing internal escalations
from VeriSign's technical organizations (i.e. Technical Support and
Operations.) The escalations includes, but not necessarily limited to, product
defects, enhancement requests and service outage reports.
Responsibilities will include working with development on quality assurance,
usability and supportability of new products, the installation, implementation
and operations of new releases of products, answering technical questions and
providing assistance with problem diagnosis and resolution.
The Escalations Engineer will be the key liaison between VeriSign technical
organizations and VeriSign Development teams. A candidate must, therefore, have
strong problem solving skills, strong technical background, as well as good
communication skills.
Experience Requirements:
- Excellent problem solving/analytical skills
- Experience in developing and supporting applications on Unix, Linux and
Windows platforms
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Knowledge of Windows Active Directory
- Experience in developing Java, C/C++
- Knowledge of HTML/XML/CGI and Web development
- Knowledge of RDBMS/SQL and Oracle
- Knowledge of Web Servers/Clients, VPN, Networking protocols and devices
- Ability to work well both independently and as a team member
- Candidate must successfully pass Background Check to achieve and maintain
trusted employee status
- Continuously exhibit behavior and actions that conforms to and maintain
VeriSign's strict Tier 3 environment
- BSCS degree (or equiv.) with 3+ years technical support and/or development
experience
