Leading Security company is in need of an experienced Marketing leader.

The Role
The VP of Marketing reports to the President and COO and is responsible for 
leading a growing marketing team in all aspects of marketing. The candidate 
will be charged with developing comprehensive market strategies, including 
corporate positioning and competitive analysis, and driving the product 
management process. This role will also develop effective lead generation 
campaigns and oversee marketing communications including public relations, 
advertising, web communications and branding. The VP of marketing will work 
closely with sales to develop and manage channel partner strategies and 
programs, oversee market and customer research for market and product 
requirements; interface with engineering for product development, product 
pricing and product lifecycle management.

The Person
The desired candidate has held executive level marketing management positions 
in technology-based companies and takes a strategic, proactive, leadership role 
in network security solutions to manage all aspects of the company's inbound 
and outbound marketing activities, including strategic marketing, product 
management and marketing management, branding, web and corporate communications 
to achieve Company revenue goals. It is essential that the candidate can 
maximize the productivity of a talented marketing team through proper coaching 
and recruiting.

The ideal candidate has the intellect and drive to fit in with an extremely 
bright and motivated management team, operating in a competitive and fast-paced 
environment. The individual must be an open communicator, have the highest 
level of integrity and a strong sense of personal responsibility in 
accomplishing the organization’s goals. This will necessitate balanced 
business judgment, the ability to identify situations early and address issues 
in an action-oriented manner, and a strong measure of people sensitivity and 
teamwork when implementing change, yet clearly focusing on results and 
accountability. The candidate must be decisive, tough-minded and fair, while 
being sensitive to the differences in cultures and people. Finally, you must be 
a “hands-on” manager who will be willing to roll up your sleeves to 
get the job done.

Requirements
• 15 years experience running a marketing department for a technology 
company using a one-step distribution channel.
• Minimum 8 years managing a marketing team.
• At least 5 years experience in Product Management.
• Strong market strategy and marketing skills; practical marketing/brand 
management.
• Proven ability to convert programs/strategies into operational plans and 
to manage plans to successful resolution.
• Entrepreneurial attitude, takes initiative and invites responsibility; 
comfortable in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
• A driven personality, "can do" attitude, and a results-oriented 
management style.
• Innovative, creative, strategic thinking and big picture orientation.
• Leadership – a person who can lead at an executive level.
• Advanced marketing degree or MBA, with a technical undergraduate degree 
a plus.
