Position:       Security Engineer
Location:       Washington D.C., District of Columbia, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

Closing Date:   2007-10-15

Cyber Security Program Management Support - Washington D.C. 

Advises on the direction, implementation, and management of significant program 
activities under the relevant Federal and Departmental regulations and policies 
(e.g., the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1995, Federal Information Security Management 
Act, Government Performance and Results Act of 1993).

Drafts, reviews, and coordinates NNSA cyber security policy, including the 
Program Cyber Security Plan (PCSP) and Protection Profiles.

Coordinates NNSA cyber security architecture, strategic plan, risk assessment, 
and threat statement reviews, updates, and documentation.

Provides NNSA-wide cyber security functional support including the following.
­ Development and execution of internal planning processes
­ Coordination of field document reviews
­ Monitoring and reporting complexwide cyber security performance and 
compliance 
­ Data collection
­ FISMA reporting
­ Preparation of briefings, reports, and response documents

Serves as liaison to the Departmental Chief Information Officer, as 
appropriate, and participates in working groups that impact NNSA cyber security 
programs, activities, and initiatives.

Reviews and comments on draft cyber security-related legislation, Directives, 
and other documents. 

Develops and coordinates the NNSA Cyber Security Training Program  

Identifies and researches critical cyber security issues and assists in 
implementing related NNSA-wide and Headquarters initiatives. 

Collaborates with internal and external Federal and contractor information 
system security managers.

Maintains the master integrated schedule of projects.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
1. Bachelor degree (Masters preferred) in English, Communications, Information 
Technology, or Technical Writing, and 8 to 10 years experience; or an 
equivalent combination of education and work experience
2. US Citizen (REQUIRED)
3. US Government Secret or Top Secret clearance (REQUIRED)
4. Professional Security Certification a plus
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Demonstrated ability to communicate with and distill information from 
technical resources 
7. Extensive knowledge of applicable policies, methodologies, tools, standards, 
and procedures
8. Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills
9. PC and desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft 
Project, email, etc.)
