Position: Security Engineer
Location: Denver, Colorado, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Design, Deploy and Maintain the Juniper SSL VPN
Implements and maintains Network Security firewalls
Ensure the Confidentiality, Availability, and Integrity of systems,
applications and data in accordance with Corporate Policy.
Monitor, identify, and mitigate security weaknesses.
Enforce Information Security policies and procedures.
Work independently with clients and Sr. Management on information security
issues and strategies.
Consult with customers (internal and external) regarding information security
requirements for existing and future business.
Write technical documents as necessary describing base security requirements
and architecture.
Develop detailed technical recommendations to solve security issues.
Perform risk assessments, provide recommendations and present findings.
Work with application developers to ensure that proper security controls are
identified, implemented, and tested.
Implement and maintain Intrusion Detection and Prevention applications.
Design, implement and maintain firewall systems and firewall policies.
Mentors and coaches Information Security Administrators.
Document policies and operating procedures.
Participate in an Incident Response Team as necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Previous deployment and maintenance history of the Juniper SSL VPN product.
A solid understanding of CheckPoint, Netscreen, and PIX firewalls, with actual
experience in design, installation, configuration, and operation of two of the
three technologies.
An understanding of CheckPoint Provider-1. Actual experience is preferred.
Depending on experience, candidate will be hired as Information Security
Analyst OR Senior
Information Security Analyst.
CISSP or specialized GIAC certification is required.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; or
equivalent work experience and Certifications.
Candidate must be highly ethical and act honorably, honestly, responsibly, and
legally.
Candidate must be able to weigh business needs against security concerns and
articulate issues to
customers and management.
Knowledge of network protocols, data flows, and vulnerabilities within a TCP/IP
environment.
Ability to perform network protocol analysis and raw data capture.
A basic understanding of dynamic routing protocols and static routing.
Candidate must have a solid understanding of UNIX operating systems.
System Administration experience with Solaris, AIX, or HP-UX operating systems.
Core Windows and UNIX operating system knowledge including network
connectivity, security, and use of system tools and utilities.
Ability to understand, interpret, and apply local security policies and system
hardening procedures.
Candidate must have an understanding of common vulnerabilities associated with
operating systems and applications.
Ability to implement, maintain, and monitor High Availability Firewall
configurations.
Candidate must be able to perform and effectively document risk assessments
from to an Enterprise Application Architecture level down to a system file
permission level.
Candidate should be knowledgeable with Windows Server operating systems and
Microsoft Active Directory.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience
presenting information to groups.
Candidate must have strong analytical, technical, and problem solving skills.
Candidate must be able to manage time and priorities with multiple projects.
Candidate must possess project management and cost/benefit analysis skills.
Candidate must demonstrate leadership qualities and skills, including
independent decision-making abilities.
Candidate must be able to influence others in a positive, goal-directed manner.
