Position: Security Consultant
Location: Dulles, Virginia, United States

Roles:

Security Engineering, Requirements Analysis, Design Analysis, Code Analysis,
and Security Testing
General Responsibilities:
As Cigital engages with clients in the application of our software or process
improvement methodologies, the Security Consultant is responsible for assisting
with the execution and delivery of planned project deliverables and milestones
that assist clients in learning, understanding, and applying software or
process improvement methodologies. The Security Consultant typically has task
responsibility within one project and
possesses solid technical and general consulting skills. The Security
Consultant keeps management informed of progress made on assignments, potential
risks and solutions. The Security Consultant is also expected to support
marketing efforts, identify follow on work, and mentor employees. He/she works
independently with a weekly project review. May supervise others after
demonstrated experience performing this job.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
• Technical skills
– Familiarity with software security weakness, vulnerability and secure
code review a plus
– Familiarity with software attack and exploitation techniques a plus
– Knowledge of DISA STIGS and DOD IA requirements a plus
• Consulting skills
– Ability to interface with clients, utilizing consulting and negotiating
skills
– Ability to undertake and complete tasks independently, meet schedules
and delivery timelines, and to move swiftly from concepts and theory to action
• Team-oriented skills
– Ability to collaborate with project team members, take direction from
the project lead and execute tasks consistently
• Project Management
– Knowledge of end-to-end project management life-cycle experience
including planning, execution and closeout
• Communication
– Requires written communication skills for use in preparing formal
documentation, Statements of Work, proposals, white papers, and case studies
– Verbal requirements that include the ability to clearly articulate
thoughts and deliver presentation and training to all levels of technical and
management audiences
– Ability to persuade
• Demeanor
– Enthusiasm and commitment with professional interpersonal skill and an
entrepreneurial drive
– Willingness to travel
• Clearances
– DOD Secret or higher clearance desired
– US Citizen
– Able to receive DOD Secret clearance
Education and Experience:
• BS in CS, Engineering or equivalent. MS preferred
• 2-5 years SDLC and security analysis experience
• Experience with C/C++, Java, multiple OS and RDBMS
• Experience with other languages (e.g. .NET, COBOL, ADA, Fortran,
Pl/SQL, or Assembly) (Desired)
• Experience conducting secure code review (Desired)
• Experience performing web application penetration testing (Desired)
• Experience in security analysis of software architecture a plus
• Consulting experience preferred
• Ideally, will have CISSP or other security certifications
• Government consulting experience a plus
• Experience in Certification and Accreditation a plus
