Our client seeks a seasoned Information Security Consultant to join their
Information Technology Advisory Services team to assess, design and combine
leading information management and operational approaches to secure systems and
to provide valuable risk management support of the business. Project scope
could vary but depending on the nature of the assigned project, duties could
include the following: Assess implementation of systems and security controls
in order to quantify and explain risk exposure and to provide recommendations;
Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities associated with the external
network perimeter and the internal network infrastructure; Develop a risk
analysis to review existing or planned infrastructure, business processes,
policies and legal issues; Design authentication and authorization
architectures and more. It is strongly preferred that candidates are local to
the Houston market but consultants who would need to travel will be considered
on
a case-by-case basis. Initial project commitment is in the 3 month range but
extension is likely if you bring value to this company.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Strong preference exists for a BA/BS degree. However, when a degree is not
present, equivalent experience will be considered. Prior security consulting
experience is a must and Big 4 experience is highly preferred. Must demonstrate
extensive information security experience in more than one of the following
skill areas: Security Assessments, Penetration Testing, Vulnerability
Assessments, Security Governance / Regulatory Compliance, Security Controls
Analysis, Identity Management and Network Architecture and Design. Must
demonstrate experience with security software tools from leading vendors and
tools such as Nessus, Nmap, Snort, etc. As a consultant, you must demonstrate
the ability to express ideas and report findings in clear and effective verbal
and written communication style. Multiple certifications are preferred,
especially the CISSP, CISA and/or certifications from SANS or vendor specific
certifications.
