--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Director, Information Security Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 2007-09-07 POSITION SUMMARY: An experienced, ‘hands-on,’ self-directed physical security subject matter expert with the ability to balance operational and strategic safety and facilities protection requirements. MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES • Oversees the physical safety of employees, contractors and visitors • Develops, publishes and enforces safety & security policies, processes and standards • Investigates (local) or consults on (affiliate) all incidents of suspicious or criminal activity • Promotes safety & security awareness via a coordinated and comprehensive program • Leads the design and development of safety & security solutions enterprise-wide • Manages access control systems, video surveillance systems, material removal programs, etc. • Manages relationships with security product and service providers, office complex / landlord security personnel, police, fire and other governmental protective agencies • Coordinates emergency response teams, floor wardens, etc. • Interfaces with the Facilities / Corporate Services department on all safety & security issues; reports any and all irregularities / hazards to appropriate personnel and follows-up on their remediation • Partners with affiliate, IT Security and Business Continuity peers for Firm-wide incident response planning; interfaces with appropriate entities and agencies to ensure adequate testing of emergency response plans takes place and that plans remain current • Identifies safety & security goals and objectives consistent with the IT Security strategic plan • Organizes the communication and reporting of safety and security posture and progress against improvement initiatives; this may include preparation of materials suitable for review by the Firm’s Board of Directors • Coordinates efforts with and serves as back-up to the Business Continuity Director • Other duties as assigned Salary:Range is $90 – 110K, 10% bonus, four weeks vacation JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- REQUIREMENTS Education and Training: • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Facilities Management or a related field (or equivalent work experience) • Physical Security Professional (PSP) or similar industry certification Experience: • Minimum of seven years experience in a physical security / crisis management position with a broad knowledge of access control systems, intrusion detection devices, CCTV etc. • Extensive experience in gathering information, collecting evidence and conducting investigations • Investment industry experience preferred Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: • Subject matter expertise in safety, security and crisis management principles and practices • Ability to facilitate cross-functional / inter-departmental meetings • Ability to maintain an enterprise focus while concentrating on specific issues • Ability to motivate others (and thereby drive desired results) although no formal authority / reporting relationship exists • Ability to respond to a crisis situation with a clear sense of urgency while exhibiting calm and confident behaviors • Ability to perform facilities and corporate protection risk analysis / gap analysis • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) • Excellent customer service skills • Excellent presentation skills • Ability to follow-up, follow through and deliver timely results CONTACT --------------------------------------------------- If qualified, please submit a Word Version Resume to John Ahn: john@altaassociates.com Alta Associates, Inc John Ahn Senior Recruiter john@altaassociates.com --------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS --------------------------------------------------- SecurityFocus now offers an online interface for searching and managing job opportunities and resumes. http://www.securityfocus.com/jobs
