The Security Test Engineer will determine if the system requirements are verifiable and quantifiable. Writes test plans and builds test cases based upon system requirements. This individual may also be required to build test data sets. Performs Manual Security Tests in accordance with the NIST 800-53 controls. The candidate will be required to write test summaries and problem reports. Applies approved technical approaches to testing to ensure that systems and applications are evaluated in an analytical and systematic manner. May assist test automation developers in creating and maintaining automated test scripts. Writes test plans and test analysis summaries. CORE SKILLS and EXPERIENCE: Must be able to read and understand requirements documents, write test plans, assist in evaluating software requirements, performing system tests, and with writing test summaries and reports. The candidate must be able to work with systems administrators or other users who may not be knowledgeable in the ST&E procedures. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a US Security clearance. DESIRED SKILLS: Desirable candidate skills include excellent communication skills, experience working with several clients or projects simultaneously, technical competence, and strong organizational skills. Working knowledge of the Certification and Accreditation process (DHS) is a plus. EDUCATION: BS in Computer Science or related field plus 6+ years related work experience.
