Position: Sr. Product Manager
Location: Mountain View, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2007-09-07
This individual will be responsible for all product marketing related to all
products in the VeriSign Authentication Services portfolio. This will include
developing product messaging based on internal and external data, designing
effective marketing program strategies to meet management goals, deliver
supporting content, and execute successful go to market plans ensuring sales
force and channel readiness. This person will be working with security products
in both the enterprise and consumer space and should have experience working
with both. This person will interface with other organizations in VeriSign
including Product Management, Corporate Marketing, Enterprise Field Sales,
Business Development, Program Management, etc to ensure products are ready for
commercial availability.
Specific responsibilities include:
-Market Analysis. This includes gathering and analyzing data from both inbound
product management and third party research sources related to the overall
market and competition.
-Quantitative Analysis. This includes market sizing, product metrics,
operational metrics and win/loss analysis.
-Product Strategy. This includes developing business cases, pricing
strategies, and product strategies to address customer needs and market
direction.
-Product Planning. This includes developing product positioning, sales
process, market requirements, user personas, and use scenarios.
-Program Strategy. This includes marketing plans, customer acquisition and
retention plans, go to market plans, buyer stories and success stories.
-Sales Readiness. This includes readying Channel and direct sales through
training, collateral/sales tools, white papers, data sheets and competitive
write ups.
-Channel Support. This includes developing presentations, demos, and event
support.
Requirements:
- MBA preferred.
- 10+ years Product Marketing and Product Management experience including
extensive experience in launching new products and growing product revenue over
time.
- Relevant industry experience is required. Previous experience with financial
services or online consumer services companies preferred. Authentication and/or
identity management products or services preferred but not required.
- Looking for an individual with strong individual initiative, high energy and
natural leadership skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills including the ability to present
marketing plans and strategies to senior level members of large organization.
Must be comfortable presenting product pitches to customers at all levels of
the customer organization.
- Demonstrated ability to drive plans and results utilizing resources across
multiple functional organizations and business units.
