They have recently won a large engagement and are looking to add to their staff. The Penetration Tester position is in support of a large and complex portfolio of Cyber Security environments for a federal client, whose mission is to enable the successful performance through the implementation and operation of effective information assurance measures and through the execution of sound risk management principals. What you will be doing: You will need to have solid experience in penetration testing, networking and security including strong knowledge of all elements of LAN and WAN Internet, vulnerability assessments, intrusion detection, encryption, and Firewalls. Able to perform active analysis of the system for any potential vulnerability that may result from poor or improper system configuration, hardware/software flaws, current operational weakness, or technical countermeasures. Conduct hands-on security evaluations, threat modeling, and penetration testing of applications and systems infrastructure. Engineer security solutions to protect a variety of users, applications, platforms and computing environments, including development and maintenance of security testing and vulnerability assessment tools, methodology, and procedures. Application knowledge of NIST SP 800-40 v2, 800-41, 800-42, and Open Source Security Testing Methodology. Proficiency with various network, host and application security protocols , tools, firewall technologies and vulnerability assessment packages. Strong customer service and time management skills desired - Secure software development experience and/or solid scripting/coding skills - Knowledge of cryptographic standards, ciphers, algorithms and PKI. The position requires some domestic travel, and an ability to work with clients resident in multiple time zones. What you need to have to get the job: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent years of experience. Formal Security Qualifications (focused degree, CISSP, NSA IAM/IEM or ITPC Infosec competencies) Experience: Minimum of five (5) years IT/technical experience is required, to include three (3) or more years of progressive information security experience with Federal Government projects.
