Position: Manager, Information Security
Location: Heidelberg, , Germany
Type: Contract
Closing Date: 2007-09-09
The position is a DOD Information Assurance Management Level II position
supporting classified and unclassified tactical networks and adjoining
information systems. The position must be filled by a US citizen with a US Top
Secret and NATO Secret clearance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Functional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas:
- Provide Information Assurance (IA) support and guidance to section
Information Management Officers and System and Network Administrators.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce IA security policies and training programs for
information systems users.
- Provide support to subordinate IA staff and IT users in areas of IA policy
and guidance.
- Manage Information Assurance Security Officers as required to establish and
maintain technical and security training programs in support of Information
Management Officer’s and System/Network Administrator requirements.
- Perform, manage and maintain an enterprise level vulnerability assessment and
management program in support of local reporting, compliance, and verification
policies.
- Process and report security violations and incidents to the servicing CERT in
accordance with theater policy.
- Assist in the gathering and preservation of evidence used in the prosecution
of computer crimes.
- Perform and maintain DIACAP Certification and Accreditations for enterprise
information systems.
- Perform periodic subordinate unit security inspections, assessments, tests,
and reviews of enterprise information systems and networks to ensure IA
compliance is maintained and reflects current certification and accreditation
packets.
- Maintain training and certification records for IA personnel and user IA
awareness training.
- Ensure approved procedures are in place and enforced for clearing, purging,
destroying, and releasing of system memory, media, and data storage devices to
other DOD organizations.
- Identify alternative functional IA security strategies to address
organizational information system security concerns.
- Review selected security safeguards to determine that security concerns
identified in the approved plan have been fully addressed.
- Assist the Information Assurance Program Manager to identify and validate IA
resource requirements.
- Prepare and present briefings for senior leadership in areas of IA
compliance, security incidents and risk assessments for enterprise information
systems.
