Position: Security Consultant
Location: Washington DC, District of Columbia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

VeriSign is seeking motivated and knowledgeable Senior Security Consultants for
our Global Risk and Compliance Information Security Practice. This a full time
(home based) employment opportunity with VeriSign, Inc. www.VeriSign.com The
position requires you to be willing able to travel for business purposes when
needed up to 50-75%
We are seeking qualified Senior Security Consultants in the Washington DC area
that have experience in the Public Sector.
A Senior Consultant possesses mid to advanced Level knowledge and experience in
information security and/or relevant information technology best practices and
standards with a heavy concentration on testing and evaluating technical
controls or regulatory or best practices gap analysis.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Technical Responsibilities and Skills:
• 2+ years of experience with HSPD-12 implementations
• Experience with privacy impact assessments
• Ability to perform C&A Familiarity with SP800-53A, SP800-37
• Experience with security concepts and test plans
• Experience with FIPS 201 and NIST Special Publications, including
SP800-73, SP800-76, SP800-78, and SP800-67
• Experience with conducting privacy impact assessments, risk analysis
and assessments, certification and accreditation, and policy analysis
• Experience with project management tools, including Microsoft Project
• Knowledge of information security or privacy laws, regulations, and
policy, including OMB Guidance and Circulars, the E-Government Act, FISMA, the
Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005, and NIST Special Publications
• Knowledge of best practices and procedures for the application of IT
privacy solutions, including conducting security or privacy risk assessments,
gap analyses, program reviews or audits for clients based upon organizational
structure and data handling processes, needs, and the vendor provider, or COTS
tools preferred
• Ability to understand the impact of information security or the privacy
risks of an information system and the larger organization and how risks may
affect a client's goals and objectives
• Ability to meet and communicate with clients, lead investigative
interviews, and capture responses in a logical and concise form
• Experienced implementing physical access security solutions
• Capability in analysis, problem identification, problem solving, and
presentations
• Strong technical skills in smart card, PKI, biometric or identity
management systems
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Occasional travel may be necessary
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal
communication skills
• Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
• Ability to perform comfortably in a deadline-oriented work environment.
• Experience in or with local, state, or federal government
• Experience in systems integration projects involving security, ID
authentication and management, biometrics, PKI, smart card, and/or e-government.
• Certified Information Privacy Professional
Educational Requirements
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience;
• At least two technical certification such as CISSP, QSA, CISM, CISA,
CCNA, CCDA, CCSA, GIAC
