KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

VeriSign Inc., a NASDAQ 100 high-tech company and leading provider of Internet 
trust services, is aggressively searching for a team-oriented professional with 
a combination of 7-10 years of experience in the information security industry 
and/or online commerce product management.

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for products and product 
components that are part of the suite of authentication services/solutions 
offered by VeriSign designed to protect consumer online identities. 

The Product Manager will have responsibility for developing and launching new 
features for our authentication offerings.  This can include platform updates, 
new credential offerings, and/or channel ready products.  The Product Manager 
will interface with the business unit and customers to define product 
requirements, develop offerings to address requirements, and deliver generally 
available products to support our expansion activities. Specifically, the 
Product Manager will have a mix of Inbound and Outbound Product Management 
responsibilities that span three primary areas: 

 

Market Sizing and Segmentation:

Perform customer and market research, industry analysis to assess market need, 
size of opportunity, competitive landscape 

Define VeriSign addressable market opportunity 

Understand fit with overall company and BU goals, objectives and sustainable 
competitive advantage 

Roll proposition into the sales and channel organization to ensure high adoption

 

Product Management

Manage development and execution of product roadmap, launch features to sales 
organization by working across functional organizations including finance, 
legal, procurement, customer services and corporate marketing. 

Refine positioning for target markets (unique benefits and value propositions 
delivered to target markets and differentiated from competition) 

Energize, train, and assist Sales in customer acquisition / expansion 

Manage "in-life" customers and sales

Develop key customer relationships and communicate VeriSign value proposition 
and product roadmap 

Determine, monitor and analyze key business performance metrics 

Track industry trends and recommend product investment strategy including 
enhancements, new product introduction, geographic expansion and business model 
strategies 

Monitor and respond to external factors including competition, market and 
technology trends 

Generate intelligence through competitive analysis and develop and execute 
action plan (Eg. changes to roadmap, marketing, and distribution strategy)

 

Requirements/Experience:

6-10 years of product management and product marketing experience in the 
technology sector

Previous experience in information security and online commerce technologies 
preferable 

Experience in new product launch and life cycle management 

Market research/target market analysis experience 

Strong analytical skills 

Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills, ability to 
communicate clearly with internal and external customers

Ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities and fast-paced Internet 
environment

Experience leading and motivating cross-organization teams 

Excellent organization and project management skills 

Ability to lead through influence

Ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities and fast-paced environment 

Ability to travel internationally and domestic as needed

 

Education:

MBA preferred.
