The University of Texas at Austin, one of the largest universities in the USA, 
is seeking a Network Security Architect for its central networking 
organization.  This newly created position is part of an initiative to begin 
central support for network based security products (firewalls, NAC, etc) in a

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Required qualifications  Bachelor's degree and five years experience in 
designing and maintaining a macro network communications system, or high school 
graduation or GED, and seven years of such experience. ADDITIONAL 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OF ALL APPLICANTS: Experience with Cisco Systems 
switches and routers. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Class 
"C" Operator's Driver's License. Equivalent combination of relevant education 
and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science and/or 
electrical engineering or a degree relating to computer and electronic 
communication. Experiences including: Working in Carnegie-class Research 1 
university central IT environment. 5 years or more hands-on support of 
heterogeneous enterprise class networks (>20,000 devices). 5 years or more 
designing and installing networks utilizing Cisco routers, switches and 
wireless products. 5 years of demonstrable experience documenting and 
communicating technologies, processes, and procedures. 3 years experience 
supporting multiple large firewall installations. 3 years experience with VPNs. 
2 years experience with 802.1x and RADIUS authentication. Experience with 
various Network Access Control methods. 5 years Linux/FreeBSD systems 
administration and development environments. 5 years experience with open 
source network management tools, and experience with network management tool 
development. 3 years Microsoft operat
 ing systems.
