Job Description:
Sourcefire, Inc. is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our highly
talented and rapidly expanding team at our Headquarters in Columbia, Maryland.
Responsibilities: * Port, package, and integrate Sourcefire Applications to
advanced hardware solutions
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Required Skills:
* At least 3 years experience as a Software Engineer
* Experience with Linux/Unix command line tools/shell scripting
* Experience using C for development in a Unix environment
* Experience with Perl and advanced bash shell scripts
* Experience with Linux/Unix packaging tools like rpm and slackware
* Linux/Unix System administration skills
* Experience porting between different Software and Hardware platforms
* Comfortable working with hardware (racking equipment, cabling, installing
hard drives, processors, memory or network cards)
* Experience with setting up Networks
* Strong troubleshooting skills
* BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent
Experience Required:
Desirable:
* Experience with writing Makefiles and creating build systems
* Experience with performance testing using Spirent Avalanche/Reflector and
Smartbits
* Experience with MySql or other databases

* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability
toýýý convey advanced technical concepts effectively
* Knowledge and experience with the software development lifecycle
* Advanced problem solving skills; ability to develop effective, long-term
solutions to complex problems
* Ability to learn new skills and apply them quickly
