Job Description
Join one of our long-term St. Louis clients where we placed the current EVP in
1992 and recently placed the current CIO in 2007. This is the type of role that
many security skilled professionals dream about, a role where they can join an
established company but still be the first dedicated full-time security person
on staff. By being the first dedicated security person, you’ll have a hand
in creating security policies and procedures, selecting future solution
purchases, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the CIO to help transform this
company from where they are today to become a $400-500M privately held
organization. The Information Security Services Manager (ISS Manager) is
responsible for integrating all aspects of technology risk management and
information security across the enterprise to assure the highest level of
protection of all data, including consumer and corporate data. You’ll
protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all data whether i
t is created, stored and maintained using technology or without using
technology. The ISS Manager is directly responsible for IT Compliance,
Technology Risk Management, System Access Management, PCI (Payment Card
Industry) Compliance and all Operating System and Network Security. This is a
highly entrepreneurial where even “C” level executives have their
sleeves rolled up. Everybody participates in a hands-on fashion. Initially,
this role has no staff responsibility and will focus heavily on preparing this
company for PCI Audit. Over time, this role becomes more of a player / coach
role where sleeves continue to be rolled up but there could be additional
people on the security staff as the company grows.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

You’ll have a BA/BS combined with 5-8 years of sound experience working
with network security and operating system security issues. You’ll have
deep understanding of significant regulatory compliance issues such as GLBA,
SOX or PCI. You’ll demonstrate understanding of ISO 17799 / ISO 27001
frameworks. You will currently possess several of the following hands-on
security skills: Firewalls, IDS, IPS, Application Security, Identity
Management, Content Filtering, Network Protocols, LDAP, Role Based Access
Control, Encryption, Fraud Protection, Single Sign-On, Two Factor
Authentication and more. Your communication skills will be excellent.
You’ll demonstrate an ability to build relationships across department
lines and will have advanced negotiation skills. Your enthusiasm for being a
security professional will show through in everything you do. You’ll be a
student of the security space in that you will have earned certifications such
as the CISSP, CISA, C
ISM or any of the variety of valuable subject matter specific certifications
from SANS.
