The Network Security Architect will help ensure the best use of network resources by defining and planning the company’s network security system goals. Investigates, documents, and recommends the need for new products and systems based on budget, client needs, improvements in technology, and changes in threat posture. Must be a persuasive and team-oriented as you will work closely with several functional areas in an organization to ensure that the security and network infrastructure is meeting the expectations of clients. Must demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Serves as an advisor to management and a mentor to delivery team staff. Provides gap analysis, technical reviews, technology “bake offs” and other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- 1) four (4) year Bachelors level degree from an accredited institution or 12+ years of experience and clearly demonstrated capability to write and present to both a technical and managerial audience; 2) Eight (8) years of hands on technical experience in security aspects of multi-platform systems, operating systems, network communications and protocols; 3) Comprehensive experience in perimeter and multi-layer network security design including knowledge of highly available and load balanced redundant internet/intranet connectivity in an enterprise environment; 4) Expert understanding of network and security related tools including, but not limited to, firewalls, load balancers, host and network intrusion detection, WiLAN and VPN technologies; 5) Ability to methodically diagnose complex application performance issues involving all relevant network security technologies including significant hands on troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform and analyze detailed packet captures; 6) Comprehensive understanding of remote access technologies including, but not limited to, dial, broadband, public wi-fi, SSL VPN, IPsec and associated remote access security concerns such as authentication, policy enforcement, Citrix, anti-virus, spyware, personal firewalls and reporting; 7) Comprehensive understanding of common networking protocols including, but not limited to, DNS, SMTP, OSPF, SNMP, HTTP, etc.; 8) Comprehensive understanding of network related integration and authentication technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, Radius, SecurID, blade servers and network access control; 9) Comprehensive understanding of Internet proxy, content caching, distribution, filtering and reporting; 10) Experience supporting mainframe environments; 11) Relevant certifications from Cisco, Novell, ISC, SANS, etc.; 13) Demonstrated experience in large scale, enterprise level implementations of security infrastructure solutions in comparable environments; 14) Underst anding of project management concepts with proven estimation ability, team leadership with a results orientation.
