JOB SUMMARY:
Key technical leadership for department; works with Managers and Director to
develop strategies, scope and prioritize programs. Creates architectures and
designs. Develops, documents, and validates solutions to problems of
significant size and/or complexity. Exemplifies highest standards in reviewing
the work of others and in being reviewed. Mentors and provides technical
assistance to other developers. Communicates and influences across
organizational boundaries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develops and articulates technical strategies to address product
vision.
• Demonstrates and establishes best practices for secure software
development.
• Develops high level product development plans and estimates complexity
and risk.
• Develops module designs based on functional requirements. Communicates
designs in written form, and leads design reviews to solicit feedback and share
best practices.
• Designs, implements and supports software modules of significant size
and complexity, including definition and validation of prototypes.
• Assists management in development and institutionalization of best
practices and processes.
• Mentors and provides technical assistance to more junior developers.
• Designs, documents and creates unit and component tests.
• Quickly understands and takes ownership of existing code
• Major participant and stakeholder in design reviews and code
inspections.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Novell eDirectory, and LDAP
directory services.
• Experience with networking technologies such as TCP/IP, sockets
programming, network protocols such as streaming, IM, peer to peer, etc.
• Excellent knowledge of C++ and Perl development in a cross platform
environment. Experience with databases and n-tier systems
• Expert level understanding of Windows Server Operating Systems and
experience with Win 32 programming.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Solaris Operating Systems.
• Very strong debugging experience with ability to analyze crash dumps,
error logs, and customer data.
• Experience in multi-threaded, asynchronous programming environments.
• Familiarity in commercial security: technologies, encryption, key
management, vulnerabilities, best practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience: 6-8 years professional software development experience
preferred.
• Education: BA/BS Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and team-work skills
• High competence in common, modern modeling techniques.
Knowledge of software design techniques for international environments (I18N,
L10N)
• Experience with Common Criteria evaluations
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Masters degree in computer science/engineering
• Knowledge of software design techniques for international environments
(I18N, L10N)
• Capable with perl, ant, awk, make, gmake, cygwin
• Experience with Common Criteria evaluations
