Position:       Application Security Engineer
Location:       Los Angeles, California, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

Closing Date:   2007-06-17

DUTIES: 

Under general direction of the Information Security Officer(ISO),conduct 
in-depth technical security reviews and risk assessments, document 
recommendations for risk mitigation, as well as provide guidance and leadership 
on related activities.               
                                                                  Research, 
evaluate, recommend, and implement information security solutions, standards, 
policies, and procedures that protect information assets.                    

Identify information security needs and implement technical solutions.  Conduct 
security risk assessment of hardware, software, and installed systems and 
network.        
                                                                                
          Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures 
for appropriate information security incident response, as well as standards 
and procedures for a information security policy.           

Assist in the development, training, and maintenance of a Security Awareness 
Program. 




JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: 

Strong familiarity with security on the network (Cisco/Juniper) or at the 
server (Linux, HP/UX, Solaris and/or Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista) or at the 
Application/Services level (Oracle/PeopleSoft/Apache/etc.).                     
              Programming experience (Perl, shell, C++, etc.) is helpful.       
                           Ability to document and audit security guidelines 
for a wide variety of Network Devices, OS’s, Services, or Applications.    
                                            Experience with Two-Factor 
Authentication, anti-malware solutions, 802.1X, Log Management (SYSLOG), 
Encryption technologies, and code validation tools is preferred.                
                                                                                
       CISA/GSEC or Vendor-Specific certifications is preferred.                
                Excellent interpersonal, communication (written/verbal), 
analytical, organizational, teamwork and time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in Computer 
Science or a related field.                                                     
                     Four years of full-time technical/functional experience in 
Network/OS/Application Vulnerability assessments.                               
                                                           Experience with 
Nessus, NMAP, and NIKTO or other discovery or hacking/ attack concepts is 
required.                                                                       
    CISSP certification is required.     
                                                                      Higher 
Education experience is preferred.
