Senior Software Engineer for Windows Redwood Shores, CAAs a Software Engineer
you will be part of a motivated engineering team that is responsible for the
QualysGuard scanner software and related applications. This opening is your
chance to work in the rapidly expanding field of computer security, in a
pre-IPO company with excellent customer ratings and outstanding growth rates.
Responsibilities
The Senior Software Engineer for Windows will work in our Scanner development
team and be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining
light-weight Windows applications which are part of the QualysGuard scanner
software. The candidate must possess a strong background in Windows API
programming, Visual C++ or C#, and development of TCP/IP network applications
using the WinSock API.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent plus five years of software development
experience.
Recent experience in Windows C++ or C# software development.
Recent experience in TCP/IP network application development using the WinSock
API.
Solid background in software engineering principles, object oriented design and
development, and multithreading.
Experience with the Visual C++ or C# software development environment.
Strong experience with "best practices" for Windows software development,
deployment and installation, for stand-alone applications and ActiveX.
Good understanding of computer security and network security principles and
techniques, including encryption and code signing.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Additional Plus Competencies
Experience in the development of "agents" or other light-weight, distributed
applications.
Experience with remote security scanning tools, network troubleshooting tools
and vulnerability assessment tools.
Experience with ATL, MFC and .Net.
Experience with Active Directory administration.
Experience with Java development.
