Position: Security Engineer
Location: Norcross/Lawrenceville, Georgia, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Network Security Engineer
Network Operations Security Engineer positions ( full- time employee) are
available with a $1 + Billion IT services firm . 9:30 to 6:30 pm Sun - Wed or
Wed - Sat
1-4 years experience, in a Network or Security Operations Center providing 7 x
24 network surveillance, network and host fault isolation and resolution. Must
have general knowledge of network essentials, Firewalls (primarily Cisco PIX or
Checkpoint), TCP/IP, and IDS’s. Experience in performing updates to
OS’s, and applications, updating virus signatures, using Netcool and
trouble-ticketing systems is preferred. Must be comfortable working rotating
shifts.
Required Skills: Strong Unix and Cisco Pix/ Checkpoint experience required.
Other OS’s and Firewalls are a plus.
Protocols: Must have thorough knowledge of SSH and TCP/IP. Familiarity with
HTTP, HTTPS, Syslog, and SNMP is a plus. Familiarization with trouble-ticketing
systems such as Remedy is a plus.
Firewalls: Must have general understanding of Firewall technologies. and have
thorough knowledge of one or more of the following Firewalls: Checkpoint
FW1,NG,Provider 1,Nokia, Raptor, Netscreen, or Cisco Pix.
IDS: Familiarity with intrusion detection technologies and tools is a plus.
Other Security Tools and Technologies: Understanding VPN, Encryption,
Multi-factor Authentication and penetration testing is a plus.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills, sound oral and written presentation
skills, and very strong Customer phone skills. Candidate must be detail
oriented and team player.
