The Information Assurance Analyst is responsible for developing and 
implementing security processes and projects to facilitate the successful 
management of risks.  The analyst performs technical and programmatic tasks in 
support of protection of Case’s administrative information and critical IT 
infrastructure. 




JOB REQUIREMENTS

The Information Assurance Analyst is regarded as a role for a seasoned 
professional (>4 years professional experience) who may not have worked 
directly in information assurance or information security, but can bring 
transferable skills to the organization.  If the person filling this role has a 
significant amount of professional polish, the professional  development of the 
incumbent in the domain of information security shall be secondary objective of 
this position, such that they may carry this expertise on to another position 
in information technology within the organization.  Experience -- Require 4 
years professional work experience, with minimum of 2 years in an analytical 
capacity (requirements/systems analysis, systems administration, testing, 
program management, forecasting, research, engineering, or applications 
development) is required. Prefer 7 years professional work experience directly 
in networked IT or information technology capacity. Project management experie
 nce and or certifications. Experience in staff management (direct and indirect 
reporting  relationship) in a matrixed environment is a plus.  Approximately 2 
years of systems administration experience in an UNIX, Linux/MacOS, or Windows 
environment for moderate to large networked environment.  Software development, 
testing, and quality assurance experience.  Education/Licensing -- BS in a 
technical discipline (science, engineering, computer science, MIS) required.  
SANS or ISC2 certifications will be required after the incumbent has accrued 2 
years in this position.  Essential Skills -- Must be able to successfully pass 
a criminal background check on an annual basis.  Systems analysis skills to 
support the development of security controls.  Understanding of academic 
(higher education) computing environments.  Demonstrated leadership skills in 
distributed process environments.  Background knowledge in federal information 
management compliance (HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, FISMA, etc.)
 .  Public speaking skills: workshop and meeting facilitation.  Strong 
organizational skills required.  Ability to resolve conflicts between security 
and business objectives.  The position also requires strong interpersonal 
relations skills including emphasis on excellent oral and written 
communication, a willingness to serve, patience and flexibility.  Ability to 
exercise meticulous care in the maintenance, control and accessibility of 
sensitive information.  Technical Skills -- Working in-depth knowledge of 
desktop computer operating systems, servers, laptops, and personal data. 
Understanding of network infrastructure topologies and technologies (e.g. 
Cisco).  Working knowledge of security technologies and standards.
