Position: Security Engineer
Location: Jersey City, New Jersey, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2007-06-24
Key Responsibilities:
· Analysis of computer and network security data flows to detect
misuse or attacks.
· Co-ordination and investigation of IT Security related
incidents
· Enforcement of company IT Security policy
· Response to user inquiries about computer threats or misuse
· Liaison with Security Engineering to improve data flow
accuracy and relevance
· Development of SQL queries, and scripts to enhance output from
security systems
· Mentor and train others within team
· Manage projects and provide weekly status updates
· Stand in for manager/team lead during incidents when necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Ability to analyze data, detect anomalies, and to investigate to a conclusion.
· Solid knowledge of Win32 technologies
· Ability to write SQL Queries
· Solid knowledge of Excel
· Good understanding of networking and traffic flow, protocols, ports,
the TCP/IP stack, etc.
· Good understanding of Network infrastructure, inc Firewalls, Switches,
Routers etc.
· Experience of Virus/Worm related incidents
· Understanding of IDS systems and related events
· Must be self motivated, and able to follow through on day to day
issues.
· Willingness to work out of hours as required
· Strong team player
Advantageous:
· IT Security knowledge/experience
· Ability to script, preferably in PERL
· Excel scripting
· Understanding of Solaris/Linux
