<b><center>IT Security Specialist</center>
The Job:</b>
The IT Security Specialist provides information assurance services to
government customers. Information assurance services may include certification
and accreditation support, policy and procedure development, risk assessments
and compliance support.
<b>Current Teams with Vacancies:
Classified Team</b>-Successful candidates must have good working knowledge of
physical, operational and technical security practices and procedures in a
classified computing environment. Good understanding of Federal IT security
policies for classified systems. Must have hands-on capability to build a
computer desktop image and good communication skills.
<b>Architecture Team</b>- Successful candidates must have experience with
developing enterprise information security architecture designs, incorporating
a wide range of security products and services from wide area networking to
desktop level , in accordance with agency needs and applicable Federal
standards such as NIST, FISMA, FIPS and other security regulations and best
practices. Strong IT technical skills and the ability to communicate technical
issues to non-technical colleagues is desired.
<b>Infrastructure C&A</b>- Successful candidates must have experience with
mainframe security and must be able to evaluate the correctness and quality of
C&A work performed to ensure that security artifacts are standardized, correct
and complete, and meet all Federal and agency compliance requirements. Must
have good writing and verbal communication skills.
<b>General Job Duties:</b>
• Oversee the efforts of security staff to design, develop, engineer and
implement solutions to security requirements
• Implement and develop IT security policies
• Gather and organize technical information about an organization's
mission goals and needs, existing security products and ongoing programs in the
IT arena
• Perform risk analyses which also includes risk assessment
• Provide support to plan, coordinate and implement an organization's
information security
• Provide support for facilitating and helping organizations identify
their current security infrastructure and define future programs, design and
implement security related to IT systems
• Identify opportunities to grow the business
• Take initiative on generating leads or performing other relevant
actions in order to develop relationships with prospects
• Travel may be required up to 25% of the time
JOB REQUIREMENTS

The qualified candidate must possess a working knowledge of several of the
following areas: understanding of business security practices and procedures;
knowledge of current security tools available; hardware/software security
implementation; different communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools;
familiarity with commercial products and current Internet technology. Must
provide daily supervision and direction to staff and show proven IT
professional with strong managerial, supervisory and communications skills,
including giving formal presentations. Must also demonstrate experience
directing the development of information and information security systems based
on understanding the information gathering requirements of customers.
<b>Education & Certifications:</b>
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 10+ years
experience in lieu of degree
• Professional certifications, such as the Certified Information Systems
Security
• Professional (CISSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Global
Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) are a plus
