Position: Application Security Engineer
Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2007-06-02
Protect DTT applications and information through the design, implementation and
integration of appropriate application security measures
Contribute to the development/maintenance of the global application security
requirements. Communicate requirements and good application security practices
to relevant parties
Plan, coordinate and conduct application security reviews to verify compliance
with global application security requirements
Collaborate with application teams to address application security issues
Coordinate with application teams during the development process to facilitate
integration of security requirements into overall development approach
Provide security guidance to application development teams
Perform application security reviews/assessments for global applications
Collaborate with application teams to ascertain security posture of individual
applications
Run automated application vulnerability assessment tools and interpret results
Facilitate third-party application assessments
Work with application teams to mitigate any identified risks
Assist in approving relevant change management requests for global applications
Maintain tight integration between relevant GHC change management processes and
application security efforts
This position requires the ability to:
effectively communicate and collaborate with application teams, DTT technology
teams and a global audience
assess situations and make decisions affecting the global applications in DTT
environment
manage wide variety of simultaneous efforts
effectively prioritize multiple commitments and manage expectations of
colleagues
balance good security practices and operational/technical realities
Must be capable of analyzing, understanding and addressing complex application
security issues
Position requires great deal of creative problem solving capabilities
Strong analytical and organizational skills in order to respond and address
application security activities in a logical and timely manner
Must be capable of determining and recommending application security solutions
for a highly diverse, decentralized IT environment
Knowledge and experience to support a wide range of activities on a
multinational basis and in a constantly changing environment
JOB REQUIREMENTS

good application security design/development practices with an emphasis on web
based applications
application security vulnerabilities with an emphasis on web based applications
general security exposures and vulnerabilities
operational and infrastructural IT components
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Information security and industry certifications beneficial, including CISSP
Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or related field
Application development experience
