The Security Product Manager - Parental Controls, in collaboration with the 
Director of Privacy and Security, will responsible for defining the standards, 
strategic direction, business issues, and priorities of parental controls 
across all Comcast products. This role requires constant creativity and effort 
to insure the effectiveness of customer facing parent control applications and 
services to address the vital issues subscribers face in protecting children 
and other minors from unwanted content and contact.  The successful candidate 
will have expertise in modern content control needs and concerns, and will help 
define Comcast’s future in this arena.

Responsibilities:

In partnership with the Director, 

o       Provide strategic leadership into the research, examination, and 
analysis of parental controls 
o       Research and evaluate new or improved parental control measures 
o       Document parental control requirements for existing and emerging 
product lines and conduct review sessions with technical and usability groups
o       Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of parental 
controls to protect Comcast and its customers.
o       Develop and expand the current capabilities of Comcast’s offerings.
o       Develop, facilitate and promote activities that create parental control 
awareness both within Comcast and among Comcast customers.  
o       Responsible for guiding policy and defining parental control processes. 
 
o       Formulate the company’s responses to incidents, security 
advisories, and other child safety operational issues. 
o       Ensure adequate planning and resource prioritization needed to maximize 
the effectiveness of the Parental Control policies both internally and in 
customer facing communications.
o       Interface with senior management as necessary, providing reports, 
presentations, and recommendations covering the operational aspects of parental 
control offerings.
o       Identify risks and system needs, define solutions and appropriate 
standards. 
o       Play a lead role on the Security Alert Response Team by providing 
guidance and recommending policy.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Minimum Requirements

o       Five or more years experience in one or more areas:
•  ISP / Portal content management
•  Education-oriented content control
•  Security and content management product design and development.
o       Two years of experience in parental controls (and / or content control) 
for online services (internet and/or video).
o       Undergraduate Degree in a related field and/or related industry.
o       Demonstrated knowledge of recognized parental control standards and the 
political environment (e.g. Government involvement like COPA, COPPA, CIPA, CDA).
o       Familiarity with best practices surrounding parental control policies 
and offerings.
o       Knowledgeable about online child safety vulnerabilities including but 
not limited to social engineering, child predation techniques, content 
filtering, access control.
o       Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, 
problem-solving, and written & verbal communication skills.
