The Role
This vacancy will report into the European Technology Risk Manager based in
London. The role will encompass the Application Risk program run by the Global
Application Risk Manager in NY
Responsibilities
The candidate for this position will be required to work with and influence
developers, development managers, technology peers, and business contacts in
regards to technology controls, risk mitigation techniques, and standardized
information security solutions for the firm’s and 3rd party applications.
Contribute to the technical understanding and promotion of new and existing
information security standards, solutions and tools.
Demonstrate a passion for and deep understanding of application security and
software quality assurance.
Provide clear and concise recommendations and guidance in written and verbal
form to both business and technology personnel.
Work effectively across a large information security team, understanding the
larger team’s role (network, platform and monitoring) in the overall
security strategy of the firm.
Miscellaneous
Evaluate and participate in outsourcing initiatives.
Provide training and advice to junior application security personnel
Operate and evaluate code scanning and review tools
Participate in Design, Architecture and Code reviews
Skills & Experience Mandatory
Senior application security experience in a financial institution.
A minimum of five years experience in information security or related fields
preferred.
Software development experience in non-trivial projects.
Written and verbal communication skills a must; strong interpersonal skills
essential. Job requires frequent interaction with Chief Information Security
Officer, vice presidents, and managing directors of the Bank and other
financial firms
Must be able to manage both time and work load without constant supervision.
Good understanding of application security and development processes. Familiar
with Risk Analysis and Risk Management, Cryptography, Firewalls, IP and Web
Security.
Preferred
Understanding of the security implications of the major privacy regulations
such as GLB, HIPAA and the Patriot Act are a strong plus.
Knowledge of Cryptography, Firewalls, IP and Web Security.
Knowledge of Databases and Operating Systems
Understanding of trading systems, settlements and payment systems.
Member of Industry sharing bodies.
Other Information
The role may involve infrequent travel to any place the firm operates. .
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or other professional qualifications and/or;
Industry certifications such as GIAC, CISSP etc. desirable but not necessary.
