This is a permanent opportunity for a Senior Manager Network Engineering. 
Senior Manager within  Infrastructure Services that is responsible for the 
management of personnel in the Network Engineering Group within our Client. 
This individual will provide leadership and management to a team responsible 
for implementation, optimization and support of IT wired and wireless network 
infrastructure for  clinical and business applications. The technical team 
consists of resources focused in the disciplines of network infrastructure 
including wireless, Voice over IP, etc.. The Network Engineering group will 
ensure optimum network performance, failover and redundancy for  network 
services, with the goal of maintaining 100% network availability for all  
network services that cover various clinical, operational and financial 
departments. A key objective is to mature the operational process using best 
practices such as the foundational ITIL model for Service Support. This 
includes, among 
 many, Release Management, Configuration Management and Capacity and 
Performance Management. Specific responsibilities include: 
Ensure 24x7x365 support structure for all network services (data, VoIP, etc) 
Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture group in the deployment of  
defined standard IT infrastructure architecture that incorporates the 
principles of the business continuity andrecovery, security and privacy 
standards, and regulatory compliance. 
Build, deploy and optimize network infrastructure ((wired, wireless, VoIP) 
based on the Network Roadmap. 
Create, maintain and manage internal operatingpolicies, processes and 
procedures consistent with IT best practices and service level agreements to 
ensure service availability 
Manage day to day operations of the NetworkEngineering Group 
Develop andimplement best practices such as configuration and release 
management, switch/router gold standards, change control procedures, site 
documentation and cross-training
Establish and report on the appropriate IT service metrics for Network 
Engineering. Develop and maintain Service and Operating Level agreements and 
metrics/reporting for systems quality and performance. 
Participate in the development and management of Operating and Capital budgets 
ensuring department and division budget goals are met. 
Seek opportunities to enhance organizational operational cohesiveness with all 
members of the division. 
Motivate and focus staff on mission, visions, goals and balance scorecard. 
Monitor and adjust resources, technology and tools to meet the business and 
organization needs. Share expert technical skills and knowledge with staff to 
meet the goals of the organization. 
Effectively manage and utilize resources (people and fiscal) to achieve goals 
and objectives of the department. 
Conduct performance reviews; provide employee development, coaching and 
opportunities for continuing education 
Maintain liaison with professional organizations and information systems 
management within similar organizations to ensure utilization of current 
principles, techniques and policies. 
Maintain documentation and procedures to ensure adherence to institutional, 
stateand federal policies and regulations. 
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein 



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/training required: 
BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering or business administration or 
equivalent experience 
Experience required: 
Minimum of 3 years of management and leadership experience Minimum of 7 years 
operational experience in the areas of: 
Extensive knowledge level / skill set of networking/telecommunications/security 
technologies and services: 
OSI Layer 1 (LAN/WAN/MAN) physical layer technologies, Layer 2 technologies 
(including Switched VLANs, spanning tree, and WLANs) and Layer 3 technologies 
(including OSPF and BGP) 
Extensive knowledge of core Cisco products and technologies, vlans, VPN, STP, 
IPSEC tunneling, server load balancingand OSP 
Extensive hands on experience setting up OSPF and other routing protocols to 
guarantee highly available and robust networking (including automatic failover 
and notification, traffic shaping, QoS and policy based routing) 
Extensive knowledge of network security technologies (firewalls, VPN 
concentrators, & ACLs) 
Extensive knowledge of DNS, DHCP and IP protocols 
Extensive knowledge of networking principles (L2/L3, STP) 
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, performed bya diverse group of 
professionals 
Experience preferred: 
Network analysis skills (Sniffer, etc.) Network Capacity planning and 
Performance tuning experience.  Extensive knowledge of networking protocols and 
concepts and network management tools including Spectrum, Cisco works, NetMRI, 
etc. Knowledge of SAN / Storage administration and network Healthcare provider 
and patient care/clinical applications/systems experience.
