Provide a safe and secure environment for the employees of COMTek. JOB REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------- • Recruit, hire, motivate, counsel, train, schedule, evaluate, and release assigned employees in the security department or working on behalf of the department. • Manage the daily operations of the security department. • Advise company personnel on proper security procedures and practices. • Assist Program Managers in defining security requirements for projects. • Establish and document security education program and publish security handbooks. • Perform site surveys of all COMTek locations and develop physical security programs for each site to include creating or procuring and installing appropriate security systems and training for all employees on those systems. • Make regular visits to off site locations to ensure security procedures are followed. • Provide assistance and guidance to off site security personnel and employees. • Write and implement any special access program (SAP) procedures and documentation. • Interact with executive management to resolve security related incidents/problems. Process initial requests for security clearances and access and interfaces with national agencies on a weekly basis concerning clearance status. • Monitor the personnel security database for initial and periodic reviews. • Interview perspective new hires to assess their clearance status. • Brief new employees on their responsibilities concerning basic company security policies and procedures. • Provide identification badge and access card support for new employees. • Respond to facility security/fire alarms during off duty hours and carry pager or cell. • Maintain and coordinate the update of the company billet rosters on all programs. • Chart and conduct follow-up reviews of clearance/visit request with various customer security offices. • Assist with requests for proposals to bid on government contracts as needed. • Investigate security violations or incidents and write/submit reports as necessary. • BS degree in criminal justice or related discipline required and a minimum of 7 years direct work experience (or 12 years of direct work experience or an equivalent combination of education and direct work experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired). • Formal security training in government and corporate security procedures and systems (including all areas of physical, personnel, facility, document control, Automated Information Systems, and DoD Industrial Security and special access programs). • Certification as a Facility Security Officer through the Defense Security Service. • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience and experience managing major project initiatives. • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. • Top Secret security clearance required.
