--------------------------------------------------- SECURITYFOCUS JOBS - NEW OPPORTUNITY --------------------------------------------------- JOB DESCRIPTION --------------------------------------------------- Position: Information Assurance Analyst Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States Type: Permanent F/T Closing Date: 2007-04-27 ISSO Position Description (NGA Softcopy Imaging System) Information System Security Officer (ISSO) The ISSO performs the following functions: Approve/disapprove IT account requests (logons) for all sites Computer security incident reports and follow-up Write system security plans for systems under the ISSO's control Write test plans and perform testing of systems under the ISSO's control Assist/facilitate independent audit and inspections of sites Provide security advice and assistance to the field locations the systems are deployed to. Visit sites for inspections of deployed systems on an annual basis Perform other duties as assigned by the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) or the Director of Security The ISSO is a key role on the federal information system security management team. This individual must have a broad understanding of information technology and networking techniques. This individual must also understand such things as information systems identification and authentication techniques, least privilege, separation of duties, audit logs and reduction tools, as well as general security principles. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of IT networking and IT security experience. CISSP or CISA certifications preferred. Experience with imagery applications preferred but not required. This position requires travel within the Continental US for site inspection visits of the deployed systems. Travel is estimated to be approximately 6 weeks per year, however the first year there will be approximately 50% travel.
