IT Security Specialist
</center>
The Job:</b>
The IT Security Specialist provides information assurance services to 
government customers. Information assurance services may include certification 
and accreditation for applications and infrastructure, security test and 
evaluation, policy and procedure development, risk assessments and compliance 
support. 
<b>
Job Duties:</b>
&#149;  As a member of security staff, design, develop, engineer and implement 
solutions to security requirements
&#149;  Implement IT security policies
&#149;  Gather, analyze and organize technical information about the security 
posture of an organization's applications and infrastructure, existing security 
products and ongoing security initiatives.
&#149;  Perform risk assessments, conduct analyses and prepare evaluation 
reports
&#149;  Plan, coordinate and implement an organization's information security 
policy and procedures
&#149;  Assist client in identifying current security and compliance 
requirements and recommend security solutions or actions
&#149;  Travel may be required up to 25% of the time 



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:</b>
The qualified candidate must possess a working knowledge of several of the 
following areas: understanding of information security practices and 
procedures, specifically NiST guidance and Federal mandates for certification 
and accreditation of government information systems; knowledge of current 
security testing and scanning tools and techniques; hardware/software security 
configuration; WAN and LAN security; FIPS-approved encryption products; 
familiarity with enterprise applications and infrastructure; application 
security and development; and current Internet and wireless technology. Must 
demonstrate excellent communications skills, including the ability to convey 
technical concepts to non- technical audiences in writing or in verbal 
presentations, as well in collaboration with other technical experts
Education & Certifications:
&#149;  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
&#149;  Professional certifications, such as the Certified Information Systems 
Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or 
Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) are a plus
&#149;  Top Secret Clearance is required!
