Position: Application Security Engineer
Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2007-03-19
Entry-level opportunity for a highly motivated individual to provide
engineering and systems expertise for our SCADA (Supervisory, Control and Data
Acquisition) applications. In this hands-on role, you will be part of our
Client Services Team, working closely with our existing clients to increase
their success with our RTAP mission-critical SCADA platform. SCADA software
training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
• Upon completion of specialized training, become proficient with SCADA
software applications, based on our RTAP product.
• Assist our client service team in the configuration and integration of
software applications for oil and gas pipeline SCADA systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with client production
systems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Requirements:
• Technical degree or certification, with 1-2 years of application
development experience with Linux or HP-UX operating systems.
• Strong scripting experience using Korn or Bash shell
• Solid working knowledge of Perl, and ANSI C or C++
• Self-directed and motivated, with ability to work independently, as
well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal and client service skills, with ability to manage
multiple projects and priorities.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Experience with SCADA, networking and UNIX system administration is a
plus.
• Ability to travel occasionally to the US and Europe is required.
