Senior Java Software Engineer - Log Management
Position Description:
This is a position for a software engineer who thrives on technical challenges
and welcomes the opportunity to participate in building a brand new team and a
brand new product. We are looking for a sharp engineer with a broad and solid
software development background as we explore new areas in developing our log
management product line.
Position Responsibilities:
 Participate in the design and development of features based on
requirements from product management
 Provide technical leadership in specific product areas
 Design and implement performance tests to identify performance
bottlenecks
 Optimize application performance where necessary
 Participate in full software development lifecycle
Required Experience:
 5+ years experience in Enterprise-class software development
 Strong development experience in Java Enterprise APIs
 Solid understanding of networking protocols and principles
 Solid understanding of multithreading and proficient in thread
dump analysis
 Development experience in SQL and relational databases
 Development experience on UNIX/Linux operating systems
 Good unit and integration testing experience
 Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and programming
 Self-driven quick learner with attention to detail and quality
 Ability to work well independently and within a team,
especially cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
 Exceptional problem-solving expertise and attention to detail
 Superb self-management skills
 Strong oral and written communication skills
Desired Experience:
 Experience in log and storage management
 Experience and strong background in file systems
 Experience with compression/decompression
 Integration with third party APIs
 Experience with NAS/SAN
 Experience with software language development
 Familiarity with agile development methodologies
 Experience with software development tools and version control
Education:
 BS in Computer Science or equivalent (MS a plus)
