Daily activities will be overseen by the Senior Security Administrator.
The Role
The role has three key objectives which will be rotated among security
administration staff quarterly:
Security administration of logical access controls for Investment Management
and Business Operations business applications.
Security administration of the Wintel environment, including email and Internet
product administration.
Information security monitoring and control of key IT environments, security
systems and user access rights.
Additionally, assist the Information Security team in the delivery of
information security governance, risk assessments and projects, as required.
Principal Responsibilities
Security administration of Wintel environment, including email, Internet
products and administration.
Maintain documentation for all user access and provide to reviewer on a timely
basis.
Implement and update all support processes and procedures in accordance with
audit requirements, with full audit trail.
Monitor and manage all calls / emails logged to the security administration
team and ensure they are being actioned effectively.
Maintain effective ownership of problems to conclusion.
Assess all problems and potential security issues and escalate to management.
Ensure that there is telephone and email cover for the team’s security
administration functions at all times.
Perform testing of security administration aspects of new system releases and
enhancements.
Evaluate planned new applications to ensure that they comply with the
Information Security policies and security administration requirements as
required.
Monitor and manage all calls / emails logged to Logical Access Control and
ensure they are being actioned effectively.
Resolution is to be documented correctly and adequately and closed once
resolved.
Maintain effective ownership of problems to conclusion.
Develop, maintain and operate information security monitoring of the IT
environment.
Implement automated monitoring policies and rules in line with security
policies and standards.
Identify security alerts and potential security issues through the monitoring
and control system.
Investigate, escalate and resolve identified security issues and alerts, in
accordance with risk and priority.
Refine and implement monitoring and control security policies and rules.
Generate and review regular and adhoc reports and investigate, escalate and
resolve identified issues.
Assess all problems and potential security issues and escalate to management.
Regular review of user access rights on key IT environments and security
systems.
Regular validation of users and corresponding access rights on key IT
environments and security systems with business owner.
Generation and review of regular and adhoc reports and investigation,
escalation and resolution of identified issues.
Liaison with IT and business managers as appropriate.
Third-party supplier liaison for support of the monitoring and control system.
Development, implementation and maintenance of monitoring and control security
policies, rules and management procedures for all supported platforms.
