Avaya is looking for a senior engineer to join its Security Technologies
department. The Security Technologies group is chartered with developing
security applications that insure the robustness and integrity of Avaya VoIP
products. Secure VoIP products require state of the art confidentiality
applications, threat detection, mitigation, and recovery, identity management,
secure transactions, certificate management, and a host of other security
aspects.
With the increasing reliance on VoIP as a means of communication, security and
robustness of services is of vast importance for any organization. This makes
the work being done by the Security Technologies group critical to the success
of Avaya. Candidates will enjoy the opportunity to make a difference in how
well Avaya products perform in a difficult environment.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
• An ability to develop software systems acting as a key contributor in a
complex/critical environment
• A depth of expertise in more than one area
• Ability to function as a team leader or key technical contributor and
demonstrate depth/breadth of knowledge/skills in own discipline
• Act as a source of technical expertise to others
• Ability to explain difficult concepts to a variety of audiences and
ensures meaning is understood
• Form networks internally and externally
• Ability to work with minimal direction and reviewed by senior
management.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide solutions to a
diverse range of complex problems. Specifically:
• Developing software at all layers of the IP protocol along with
knowledge of the various implementations of the protocol stack
• Knowledge of network protocol vulnerabilities and the ability to
develop responses to those threats
• Ability to apply threats found on the Internet to IP Telephony
applications in order to create robust products that resist attacks while
provide clear, uninterrupted voice services
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required experience and knowledge desired are:
• 5+ years experience
• BS degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• C and C++
• TCP/IP
• Integrity verification systems
• Network encryption/decryption
• VPN Tunneling
• PKI
• VoIP applications
• H.323, SIP, RTP
• Messaging Systems
