Position: VP, Information Security

Principal IT Architect
Job Duties: This position is for an experienced technical Security Architect
to focus on the security controls and requirements of a complex, technical
environment. The ideal candidate consults with senior IT management and
business unit executives on the design of complex and/or strategically
significant security systems and projects as well as emerging technologies. The
candidate should possess a broad-based and in-depth knowledge of complex
technologies, tools and methodologies. The candidate should be an expert in
understanding how security technology relates to the overall business strategy.
The candidate must have a strong security background and can convey
industry-best practices and how they can integrate into our environment.
Candidate would be responsible for ensuring strong security controls are
established and maintained within our environment and in compliance with a
variety of security requirements (NIST and other Federal Standards). Candidate
would be well-ver
sed in both industry best practices as well as Federal security standards.
Candidate would be technical enough to understand concepts/issues from the
technical teams and bring security issues/solutions to senior management in an
easily understandable manner. Strong organizational skills are necessary to
manage numerous requests and projects relating to the security environment.
Strong risk assessment skills are required to adequately convey
and remediate security risks. Daily activities include the managing of multiple
security projects, working closely with technical teams on security issues and
communicating with management and the business unit on security strategy and
direction. This position requires someone who is capable of seeing and learning
the big picture, both from a business perspective and from a technical
perspective.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience in information technology strategy planning for large enterprise
wide organization, information security program and administration, security
architecture design and technology assessment. Fortune 500 company
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Excellent leadership and teaming skills
Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment
Experience with security program audits and assessments
Ability to perform network security vulnerability assessments
Expertise in associating security requirements and initiatives with business
drivers to ensure successful implementations is desired.
Education:
• Business, computer, or related technical degree from an accredited
institution
• CISSP, SANS GIAC, CISA certifications a significant plus
• Technical Certifications (MCSE, CCSE, CCSP, TICSA) desireable
