Position: Security Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative and

The essential function of the position is to protect the confidentiality,
integrity and availability of WesCorp’s information system by:
-- Acting as a project lead for internal security initiatives.
-- Designing and implementing security controls at the network, operating
system, database, and application layers.
-- Providing proactive identification of security vulnerabilities and
monitoring the environment for intrusion.
-- Drafting accreditation support documentation and conducting training as
needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
-- Strong people skills and the ability to work with the security team, the
other IT departments, and the business units.
-- A passion for technology and information security.
-- Excellent technology troubleshooting skills.
-- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking (routing/switching).
-- Windows Server operating system knowledge, including Active Directory.
-- Administration experience with industry-leading firewalls (Check Point,
Juniper).
-- Intrusion Detection/Prevention experience (ISS, Symantec, NetIQ).
-- Experience using vulnerability assessment tools (Qualys, eEye Nessus).
-- Experience with web application security (development or security tools).
-- Database experience or expertise is a plus.
-- Computer Science or Information Systems degree with a minimum of three years
relevant IT Security experience OR a minimum of six years IT experience with
five of those years dedicated to IT Security.
-- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified
Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and/or SANS Global Incident Analysis Center
(GIAC) Security Certification are a definite plus.
