JOB DESCRIPTION
---------------------------------------------------
Position: Security Architect
Location: Los Angeles, , United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2007-03-03
enior Cryptographer. Given the training, experience level, and security access
(S-TS/SSBI) required for this position, as well as the scarcity in the job
market of people that perform this role, I believe that this position will be
graded as high as E44 (Technical Fellow).
The replacement for the cryptanalyst position must have the following
characteristics:
1. PhD in Mathematics with good knowledge of discrete mathematics,
including number theory, information theory, computational complexity,
statistics and combinatorics.
2. Knowledgeable of the state-of-the-art in cryptography.
3. Relevant experience creating, modifying, coding, and testing
cryptographic algorithms.
4. Experience writing formal, refereed, journal papers (this could be
during his PhD work)
5. Ability to attend cryptography conferences.
6. Anti-tamper or hacking experience (I think this is going to be hard
to find. As long as they are trainable...)
1. Other characteristics we would like to have, but are not required are:
Relevant cryptographic experience with an agency
2. Hardware design experience.
3. Experience managing/directing subordinates.
The job description would read something like:
Lead a small group of engineers developing requirements, analyzing, designing,
simulating, and validating cryptographic software/hardware implementations for
anti-tamper/secure applications.
Secure Systems Engineer/Architect position. This position will be more of an
engineering type role with less education and experience. The role will
require
SSBI and the individual would have to ideally be upgradeable to the TS level.
