Reports to Audit Manager
The Role
To add value to the business by undertaking audits in line with the audit plans
agreed by the Group Audit Committee.
This is an established role within the Group Internal Audit Department and will
involve reviews across all operating companies and certain joint ventures
across the Group. The role will necessitate interaction with all levels of
personnel up to Director level and therefore requires a pro-active and credible
individual, able to communicate effectively at all levels. Working alone or as
part of an audit team you will need the ability to plan and manage single and
concurrent audit projects to meet agreed deadlines to the quality standards
required. You will be required to be proactive in ensuring adequate independent
challenge whilst also working with the business to add value and minimise
duplication.
Accountabilities
IT audits including reviewing the controls and risks for:
Systems under development and post implementation reviews
existing applications
Security – both logical and physical security and disaster
recovery/contingency planning processes across all hardware and software
platforms and networks operated by the Group.
Reviewing IT policy, procedures and guidelines including project management
controls and quality assurance
Undertaking IT process and system effectiveness and efficiency reviews
To support the Internal Audit Team in using computer assisted audit techniques
To support the maintenance of the Internal Audit Computer systems used to
undertake, manage and control the audit process and interaction with the
business
To promote awareness of and provide advice and guidance to the business and IA
team on IT related controls and risks.

Knowledge/Skills and Experience
Degree level , experience in computer audit or IT (project management,
systems development) .Retail Systems experience an advantage
Experience of the following an advantage - AS400, Unix, Oracle, SAP, Excel,
Word, Internet Retailing, Audit interrogation tools - IDEA
Ability to express oneself clearly and succinctly both orally and in written
reports
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work at all levels - Board, Controllers
, Controllers teams
Must be able to effectively identify problems , seek pertinent data , recognise
important information, identify underlying issues and be able to recommend
ways to resolve them
Able to work on their own with minimal supervision.
