The Role
The key objective of the role is to provide technical expertise to facilitate
the deployment of effective information security measures in accordance with
agreed information security policies and standards.
Principal Responsibilities
On-going monitoring of information security innovation and change to identify
opportunities for the Organisation to exploit for business benefit – eg to
reduce risk or to manage the cost of security.
Technical testing and evaluation of security products as agreed.
Advice and guidance on the deployment of practical information security
measures and technology solutions.
Provision of technical security project lead for selection of best-practice
information security solutions and implementation to meet security and business
requirements on schedule and within budget.
Identify and define business requirements.
Define policy and procedures for solution implementation and operation, in line
with security policies and standards.
Implement and deliver solutions to required standards.
Problem definition and resolution, as required.
Assistance to the Head of Information Security with the development and
maintenance of global information security strategy, policies and standards for
application and infrastructure technologies.
Promotion of security awareness amongst staff globally.
Provision of technical security lead in security project and other IT and
business-related projects.
Provide assistance to Technical Support teams in the deployment of agreed
information security technology solutions during implementation.
Participate in various audits, risk assessments and investigations throughout
the organisation.
Conduct and document risk assessments.
Provide support for the security alert management and incident reporting
process.
Manage security incidents to minimise business impact when necessary
Co-ordination, monitoring and administration of various operational security
process and procedure checks internal to IT – in particular intrusion
prevention and detection, Internet access control, vulnerability scanning,
secure build compliance checking, patch management – others as agreed.
Liaison with and support of information security contacts in overseas offices.
Assist with the management of main information security supplier relationships.
Fulfil additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role and business
requirements
