The NOAA Computer Incident Response Team (N-CIRT) has a challenging job
opportunity as an IT Security Specialist to develop, design, deploy, and manage
the NOAA Enterprise Intrusion Prevention (Detection) System (IDS/IPS). The
incumbent also provides critical IT security incident response (including
forensics) and security consulting services to NOAA.Please note: this vacancy
announcement closes on February 8th, 2007.
Salary range is from 79,397.00 to 121,967.00.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Expertise is a must in the following areas: TCP/IP protocol suite (IP, TCP,
UDP, ICMP, etc) and computer forensics. Expertise in any of the following
disciplines is a plus: Routing protocols, LAN/WAN management, application layer
protocols (HTTP, FTP, DNS, SMTP, etc), encryption protocols and technologies,
system administration, OS system design, software development, and security
testing of IT products and software.
