Position: Security Engineer
Location: San Diego, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

Department Description:
The Motorola PKI and Security Engineering Center is Motorola's Certificate
Authority and security knowledge center. We generate tens of millions of keys
for millions of Motorola products yearly, as well as provide advanced security
technology and consultation throughout the corporation.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
1) Support external PKI license administration management.
2) Assist in obtaining Common Criteria certification.
3) Support internal and external process development and administration for
security engineering functions.
4) Conduct and document compliance audits for security engineering processes.
5) Review software and systems for compliance with security standards.^^
Basic Qualifications:
A 4-year bachelor of science degree (a bachelor of applied science degree will
NOT be accepted) in CS, IS, or CE, from an accredited college or university,
plus a minimum 6 years of industry security software engineering experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Specific Knowledge/Skills:
1) Engineering Bachelor’s Degree.
2) Experience in C/C++ programming.
3) 3 years+ experience in data and network security.
4) Basic understanding of PKI, encryption, certificates and related
cryptographic principles.
5) Ability to work closely with technical marketing, development, test and
operations support.
6) Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Able to draft
clear technical documentation.
7) Must be able to review and analyze technical and non-technical documentation.
8) Must be able to work under pressure and independently with minimum
supervision.
9) Occasional travel required.
