Position: Security Product Manager
Location: Palo Alto, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

The Product Manager of Platform Security defines the security strategy and
manages ongoing security needs of VMware's enterprise virtualization platform.
Responsibilities:
You will lead efforts to ensure that VMware provides the most secure
virtualization environment, at all layers: at the core hypervisor, at the
virtualization management layer, and even for guest OS's and applications
running within the virtualization environment.
Specific areas of responsibility may include: hardware-based chains of trust
(e.g. trusted protection module technology), authentication systems, auditing
and certification, and guest OS/application security services such as firewall,
intrusion detection, anti-virus, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in technical marketing, product management, or
engineering management in the computer industry, in the security area
• Technical B.S. required, MBA desired
• Ability to quickly understand technologies, algorithms, and
architecture, and interpret and articulate them into customer-facing
implications is a must
• Desired: familiarity with Unix and Linux authentication, access control
models as well as Active Driectory access control models.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. The ability to
influence people at all levels and in various functions is required.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for
processes to improve the company's productivity
• Understanding the needs, scenarios, and common deployments in the
enterprise datacenter, enterprise desktop, or other related computing field is
highly desirable
• Strong teaming skills and experience to bring together diverse views.
• Travel up to 25%
