Below is the entire job description written by the hiring manager. However, I
have placed several people in this position and the hiring manager is strictly
hiring based on F5 big Ip experience and it is my understanding that this job
is almonst entirely F5. 3DNS is not required but would be a plus. They are
currently setting up interviews and hiring ASAP. This position is worked
remotely and requires a three day training in Aurburn Hills. All travel is
paid. After training you will be given a laptop to work from home with. The
position is contract through first quarter with strong possibility of extension
and can lead to a permanent placement. If your not interested please pass this

34280 – Infrastructure Spec - Sr
Position Summary
Global and local load balancing engineer with at least three years experience
with F5 load balancing equipment, or equivalent experience. Must be able to
gather customer requirements, create design and engineering plans, test
engineering in development labs, and implement load balancing into production.
Responsibilities
Load Balancing Engineering Responsibilities
1. Plan, design, engineer, deploy, and support local and global load balancing
solutions or migrations.
2. Reviewing variou application architectures, evaluating global and local
load balancing traffic management requirements, create comprehensive deployment
plans, and participating in those deployments.
3. Identify, analyze and devise solutions to infrastructure system problems.
4. Design, construct, test, implement, and optimizing infrastructure systems.
Core Responsibilities
1. Performs daily operational activities, which includes:
a. Performs Moves, Adds, and Changes for devices
b. Manages organization of devices and sites.
c. Performs patches.
d. Performs upgrades.
e. Works with software vendors to resolve problems.
2. Manage outages, which includes:
a. Managing problem ticket queues
b. Reporting problems to management, and reporting the team’s
actions during those outages to management.
c. Handle Sev 1 or 2 incident management notifications as
required.
d. Assign problem ownership.
e. Downgrade/upgrade severity levels, as required.
f. Perform post-issue follow up as needed.
g. Engage vendor account service manager for escalation issues.
3. Provide project and proactive technical support.
4. Must be flexible and provide occasional weekend and off hours support, as
well as participating in on-call rotations.
5. Use available tools for internal processes (e.g. Visionael, Aldea, IW, or
other systems)
6. Compile metrics reports as required.
7. Create and maintain appropriate documentation as needed.
8. Participate in technical meetings, scheduled client meetings, or vendor
review meetings.
Skills & Experience
1. Three years experience planning, designing, and deploying F5 local and
global load balancing solutions or migrations. This includes doing load
balancing upgrades, migrations, optimizations, and application verification to
ensure highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructures.
2. Three years experience reviewing various application architectures,
evaluating global and local load balancing traffic management requirements,
creating a comprehensive deployment plans, and participating in those
deployments.
3. Must be able to identify, analyze and devise solutions to infrastructure
system problems. Must also have three years experience designing,
constructing, testing, implementing and optimizing infrastructure systems.
4. Must be able to interact with customers, EDS, and teammates and collaborate
together to ensure plans and identified solutions meet customer needs and
expectations.
5. Must be able to manage projects within the scope of responsibility.
6. Must be able to prioritize project plans and deliverables, as well as be
able to multi-task for multiple customers in a fast-paced environment.
7. Must be able to learn new concepts, skills, and tools in a relatively short
space of time.
8. Must be able to handle high pressure environments while keeping a smile and
a good sense of humor.
9. Have core network experience.
10. Must have CCIE or CCNA certification.
11. Knowledge of operating system administration, and knowledge of application
support.
12. Knows iControl and SNMP.
13. Performance and capacity planning.
14. Detail-oriented
15. Must be able to work in a team environment.
16. Must have effective communication skills to include written, verbal, and
listening.
17. Must be able to interact with clients, leadership, technical support, and
operation personnel in a professional manner.

Additional information:
Project will last 1st quarter of 07 (at a minimum)
Manager will be looking for at least 2contractors total
They could travel to get acclimated to the project location (MI and then work
from a home office – once they have the lap top, etc.
The candidates can will train in Auburn Hills, MI for 3 to 5 days
All candidates will be interviewed that have the required skills (they must
have F5 experience).
