Position: Software Engineer
Location: Palo Alto, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

As a technology focused company, VMware is investing the development of
security technologies that take advantage of the virtualization layer for
improved security for both, desktops and servers. Interesting projects are
initiated in the company in areas like exploitation detection in all levels,
new concepts for hardened and secure working platforms, compliance, and more.
VMware is looking for candidates that can contribute to these projects at all
stages: research, analysis, prototyping and development which is expected to be
performed in multiple groups in VMware.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
1. Understanding of the security space including aspects of desktop and server
security in at least one of the following areas:
a. Exploitation techniques
b. Protection technologies and products
c. Vulnerabilities assessment and exploits analysis
2. 2+ years experience in software development focusing on low level
programming (Windows/Linux kernel level development, device drivers, file
filter drivers, memory management related development, etc.)
3. Knowledge of Operating Systems concepts (at least one major OS).
4. Hard-working, self-starter, independent and creative individual who can
become a part of a new and exciting team.
5. Excellent communication skills and flexibility
6. At least B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
