Security Engineer - Mountain View 

This position is based in Mountain View, CA. 

Google is looking for experienced and enthusiastic individuals that live, 
breathe and eat security. If you dream about stack protection, suspicious 
activity in raw tcpdumps, or would like nothing better than to teach others 
about the intricacies of Windows RPC, then we'd love to see your resume. 

We are looking for individuals with core competency in one of the following 
areas of security:

•  Network Security (e.g., firewall, IDS, DDoS protection). 
•  Operating System Security with a focus on Windows or Linux.
Responsibilities:
•  Design and implement infrastructure to protect the Google network. 
•  Conduct sophisticated security reviews of core infrastructure. 
•  Help define overall security strategy and procedure. 
•  Evaluate the impact of current security advisories and publications. 
•  Evangelize security within Google. 
•  Support fellow Googlers with security advice and guidance.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
•  BS, MS in Computer Science or equivalent. 
•  Minimum 3 years of experience in a security position. 
•  Expertise in at least two of the following
areas:
o       Network-based attacks and mitigation. 
o       System-level attacks and mitigation. 
o       Network-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, IPsec, 802.1x). 
o       Operating system internals and interfaces/protocols.
•  Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, shell) and expertise 
with robust programming. 
•  Must have a self-directed mentality with excellent leadership and 
facilitation skills. 
•  Ability to think on your feet and be creative. 
•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
•  CISSP NOT required.
