Risk Assessment elements of policies, standards, frameworks and processes to effectively control the risk associated with the compromise, loss or damage to the Groups information and/or the technology used to store and process that information. Assisting in the implementation of designated policies and associated documents, ensuring management continuously evaluate, enhance and address shortcomings in the Groups environment. Managing the group-wide implementation of Information Security. Ensuring that all IS risks are managed appropriately and in line with policy. Ensuring that all IS exceptions and waivers are appropriately documented agreed and signed off. Reporting and escalating issues in a timely fashion. Provide input into the development and evolution of Group Business Protection Policy to ensure ongoing effectiveness of the Information Risk Management function. Context To provide consultancy and management in the Aviva group for the information security aspects of business protection. Accountabilities Providing advice and consultancy on the implementation of policies Developing a Risk Assessment framework and reviewing key Risk Asessments conducted within the Groups Business Units (BU). Contributing to the IT Security Architecture in conjunction with Group IT and BU IT functions. Reviewing security configuration and build standards for key technical platforms used by the BUs. Reviewing potential strategic security products and components. Assisting with investigations into breaches of IS policy or other IS-related incidents. Internal Relationships Maintaining professional and supportive relationships with internal stakeholders including: Group BU Group functions including Legal, Compliance, HR and Governance. External Relationships Maintaining professional and collaborative external relationships with: • Security managers in other organisations • Specialist IS / 3rd party consultants • Suppliers of specialist services • Representatives of Government departments (e.g. NISCC) and other intelligence organisations • Suppliers of specialist IS products • Industry security bodies of knowledge and expertise Qualifications Degree level qualification Recognised external security certification preferred (e.g., one of CISM/CISSP etc) Skills/Knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills Sound understanding of information security and risk management Attention to detail as required Ability to influence and change Experience At least 3 years of experience in information security, including risk management, security strategy, architecture, and security awareness At least 2 years experience in the financial services industry. Experience of working in large international organisations is required.
