Position: Remediation Security Analyst

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This position is a software development/systems administration position
providing remedy and policy support for McAfee’s security research team
that is part of the McAfee Hercules Policy Auditor and McAfee Hercules
Remediation Manager engineering department.
• The position entails maintaining the existing remedies and policies as
well as the development of next generation remedies and policies which the
Security Research team and Product Management deem necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• 2 – 4+ years of experience working with Windows, Unix and Linux
systems and be able to work in and manage their respective development
environments.
• Solid working knowledge of C# or VB.Net – preferably C# with an
understanding of OOP concepts as a plus.
• SQL Server – must be able to understand and write queries and
stored procedures as well as understand relational database design.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Perl, HTTP, HTTPS, PHP, Web
Services and LAMP.
• System administration experience extremely useful and would be
considered a plus for this position.
• Visual Basic 6 – syntactical understanding will suffice.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, EE or other related fields of study or
equivalent work experience.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of security
technologies.
• The Research Scientist’s primary responsibility will be to design,
develop, and unit test both individual remedies and policy templates to exceed
specified standards and end-user requirements.
