Position: Security Engineer
Location: Mountain View , California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.
Google is looking for an Information Security Engineering Manager to complement
our existing security efforts around helping Software Engineering teams think
about code security and safety. If you want to help change the way the world
thinks about software development from this perspective, then read on!
Responsibilities:
* This position entails mentoring and expanding a team of highly skilled
Security Engineers; guiding them in their career growth is a key role.
* Work with Product Managers, Software Developers, and QA to assist in
making our products more secure.
* Be actively involved with all aspects of the software development
lifecycle.
* Share knowledge with Googlers: formal mentoring, documentation, giving
technical talks.
Leadership, Communication and Technical Requirements:
* BS in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience), and
have knowledge in one or more Computer Science disciplines.
* Strong understanding of information security concepts (e.g., application
security, cryptography), and how they affect the Google customer.
* Demonstrate management capabilities to provide guidance and mentorship of
others.
* Highly adaptable communication skills with the ability to influence
individuals in all roles.
* Business acumen to be both an arbitrator and advocate for technical
issues.
* Ability to be a key influence in decision-making of multiple project
teams.
* Talents in line with managing a team of 6-12 Software Engineers,
including task planning and prioritization.
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
